How-To: Access Client Area (cPanel) directly
01/June
Here's a handy little shortcut: instead of going to our website and clicking Client Area every time you want to access the Client Area (cPanel), simply add /cpanel to the end of your domain, and you'll be greeted by the familiar login screen! For example: www.yourdomain.com/cpanel
This works for webmail as well. Simply add /webmail to the end of your domain. Example: www.yourdomain.com/webmail

How-To: Upload your website using an FTP client
30/May
In this how-to, we are using Flow, our favourite FTP client, but you can use virtually any FTP client you wish. The settings will remain the same.
In your FTP client, please use the following settings:
Protocol: FTP
Server: ftp.dvhost.com
Username: Your account username, which you will find in your welcome email
Password: Your account password
Path: public_html
Once you have entered these settings, click Connect. You should now be able to drag and drop files and folders to upload them.

How-To: Addon Domains (Pro accounts only)
29/May
For this how-to, we'll assume that your primary domain hosted with us is called www.maindomain.com, and you want to host an additional domain called www.addon.com.
First, you need to add your addon domain:
1. Login to the Client Area (cPanel).
2. Click on "Addon Domains", which you will find under the "Domains" heading.

3. You'll see a form named "Create an Addon Domain". The only fields you need to fill out are "New Domain Name" and "Password". Also note the username that is generated, as you'll need it later for the publishing setting.

Next, configure your Publishing Settings in RapidWeaver:
1. Go to the File menu and select "Publishing Settings" and use the following settings:
Server: rw.dvhost.com
User Name: addon@maindomain.com (this is made up of the username that was generated when you added the addon domain, followed by @ and your primary domain name. If you do have any problems, please contact our support team.
Password: The password you chose
Path: /

2. Click Test Connection to make sure your settings are correct.
3. Save your settings by clicking OK. That's it, you are ready to publish.
Tip: One great feature of addon domains is that each addon domain has its own unique login information, which is firewalled from the rest of your account. That means you can safely hand it out to clients.

RapidWeaver 5 has landed
04/December
Originally billed to be released during the summer, RapidWeaver 5 is finally here, and it looks like it has been worth the wait! The new version features an overhauled user interface, 6 all-new themes bringing the total number of built-in themes up to 45, a new HTML and XML site map generator with automatic search engine submission, bookmark manager and more. Perhaps our favourite new feature is the new Resources manager, which allows you to manage all your files in a single place. This is very handy when you want to offer PDF documents and other downloads from your website.

Lower cost domain name registration
30/September
No matter whether you use RapidWeaver to design your own website(s), or offer your services to others, you probably need to register at least one domain name. The cost of these can add up quickly, especially if you need to register a few, and lower cost registrars like GoDaddy bombard you with irritating advertising as you try to checkout. We are currently in negotiations with a well known registrar, whom we cannot name yet, to offer domains to RapidWeaver users at a significantly reduced rate. If successful, we will pass 100% of the savings on to you.

Updated 4/October/2010:
Our domain name registration service is now live. We have partnered with Dotster, a reputable premium registrar, to sell .com, .net, .org, .info, .biz and .us domain names for between $8.50 and $8.98/year. This includes all ICANN fees, and there are no strings attached. For full pricing information and to get started, click here. You can also transfer existing domain(s) to us if you wish. As our volume increases, we hope to lower prices further.
